**Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Job Duties
Prepare service trucks for planned job tasks onsite or at job sites.
Inspect trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
Diagnose faults using testing equipment, adjusting equipment and replace faulty parts.
Repair damaged equipment parts. Welding and cutting experience highly preferred.
Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on all heavy-duty equipment and perform major repair work when required.
Consult and communicate with manufacturers technical managers.
Report damaged or faulty equipment to management as well as provide supporting documentation.
Requirements
Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic or minimum of four years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and vehicles.
Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
Interpersonal competencies that include a drive for results, effective oral communication skills, organization, planning, trust, respect, being dependable and cooperation.
Good housekeeping standards and ability to observe safety procedures and report any potentially unsafe conditions to management.
Understanding of computer testing technologies
**Directional Drill Foreman
Job Duties
Supervise and lead a directional drilling crew in the installation of underground utilities
Operate and maintain directional drilling equipment efficiently and safely
Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project completion
Enforce job site safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry regulations
Troubleshoot issues as they arise and implement effective solutions
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily reports and safety documentation
Requirements
Proven experience in directional drilling within the utility construction industry
Strong knowledge of underground utility installation processes
Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced outdoor work environment
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
CDL license (preferred)
OSHA certification (preferred)
**Directional Drill Operator
Job Duties
Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment to complete bore shots safely and accurately.
Work in tandem with a Locator to plan bore paths, avoid conflicts, and ensure safe excavation.
Read and interpret maps, blueprints, and utility locate marks to support drilling operations.
Identify, locate, and avoid underground natural gas lines and other utilities.
Perform daily pre-trip, post-trip, and equipment inspections; document any issues.
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning on drilling equipment, trucks, and tooling.
Maintain all required Operator Qualifications (OQs) and safety certifications.
Communicate clearly with the crew, leadership, and customers when applicable.
Assist with general labor as needed, including excavation, site clean-up, and restoration.
Follow all safety protocols while working within the red zone of heavy equipment.
Complete all required production and documentation logs.
Requirements
Prior experience operating horizontal directional drilling equipment.
Knowledge of cross-bore awareness and safe digging practices.
Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and locate marks.
1+ year experience operating heavy equipment near underground utilities.
Ability to work safely in fast-changing field conditions.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
